Fresh Start. An Intro…

Sword Fern in the Tillamook State Forest, Oregon.

I suppose it has been evident from my silence that I have been struggling with the direction of my blog. My life went from regularly exploring new countries, which allowed me access to unlimited and exciting content to share, to toggling between the United States and Norway. The newness faded, and with that, the inspiration.

But, now, in a quest to fully embrace my new reality, with its unknown timeline, I feel encouraged to begin anew by launching a new series, one that combines my long love for macro photography with my enjoyment of exploring and understanding ideas through writing.

My idea is this: with each new post, I will choose a topic that I will explore through text. Undoubtedly, these themes will resonate with my current situation. One where I find myself living in parallel universes, navigating immigration systems in multiple countries, while building a life for three months with and then three months without a fiancé from a different culture and native language, while at the whim of a wild international political climate, one that affects our future together, all the while navigating a US immigration system that is wholly in flux. The addition of macro photography is both a fresh idea to capture where I am visually and a bit of a metaphor for taking a closer look at my surroundings, outwardly and inwardly.

Admittedly, this will be a bit of an experiment.

Please drop me a note if you have any topics you would find interesting for me to focus on. I would love to hear ideas that may have escaped my attention.
